What is polymer clay?

Polymer clay is a modelling material typically based on PVC/other types of plastic and is commonly used for a wide range of artistic and craft projects like jewelry making, accessories, ornaments, and keepsakes. 

The 3 top reasons why we’ve decided to craft polymer clay dog tags: it is non-toxic, waterproof, and safe to use, making it suitable for both us and our dogs!

What is the material used for 3D printed tags?

We use PLA for 3D printed tags, which is a biobased plastic material made from plants such as corn starch, sugar cane, sugar beet, cassava or potatoes. It is environmentally friendly as it is recyclable and non-toxic.

It is also resistant to high impact, extremely lightweight and waterproof, making it suitable for both us and our dogs!

Are the dog tags waterproof?

Yes, our tags are waterproof! For the polymer clay tags, once baked, the tiny pieces of polymer clay fuse together, creating a strong and durable bond that can withstand exposure to water.

While the tags are waterproof, the metal bezel may tarnish quicker in the sea/treated water, hence it is recommended to remove the tags when your dog is at the beach/pool to ensure the longevity and appearance of the tags.

What sizes and colours do you offer for the dog tags?

3D Printed Tags
We offer the following options, depending on the design you choose.

Small (< 2.5cm in height)
Medium (≧ 2.5cm in height)
Large (≧ 4.0cm in width)

We offer two sizes: Regular (31mm in diameter) and Large (38mm in diameter). Additionally, you can choose from three bezel colours: gold, rose gold, and silver.

Which size should I choose for my dog tag?

3D Printed Tags
As a general guideline, we recommend the small size (< 2.5cm in height) which is specially designed for small dogs, to reduce the risk of the tag dragging on the floor when your doggo is walking.

For larger breeds like golden retrievers, bernese mountain dogs etc, you may choose between the medium or large sizes depending on whether you prefer the tag to be more visible or not.

Polymer Clay Tags
As a general guideline, we recommend:
- Regular (31mm) for dogs that weigh below 15kg
- Large (38mm) for dogs that weigh above 15kg

These size recommendations are designed to ensure that the tag is proportionate and comfortable for your pet to wear. If you would like the tag to be more visible for your doggo, feel free to upsize the dog tag even if your doggo is smaller in size!

Are the dog tags lightweight and comfortable for my dog to wear?

Yes definitely! Our large 3D printed tag weighs just ~8 grams inclusive of the hardware. Each polymer clay tag weighs just approximately 10-15 grams, making it easy for your dog to wear without feeling weighed down.

Can I request to seal my dog tag with resin?

Unfortunately not at the moment. Although resin can create a nice glossy texture, the process of curing resin (a step in which liquid resin would harden and solidify) emits toxic fumes.

While we humans can wear protective gear such as a respirator mask/gloves while curing resin to minimise exposure to the fumes, we are not 100% confident that we can protect our own doggo from it.

Until we figure out how we can do so without putting our doggo at risk, we seek your understanding for this :)

PS: if you currently own/are intending to purchase resin dog tags, please do not worry - cured resin (which is the hardened state in which you would have received your tags in) is non-toxic and safe for use for your doggos!

Do you offer different shapes/non-bezel polymer clay dog tags?

Currently, we do not offer different shapes or non-bezel polymer clay dog tags. However, we are continuously experimenting with various options to ensure we introduce durable and high-quality products to you and your doggos, so please keep a lookout in the future!

Is the adhesive label that contains our contact information durable?

Yes, we use a special brand of adhesive tape that is made from high-quality materials. A published lab report has also shown that it is resistant to fading, smudging, water, and other external factors. The tape’s adhesive is strong and long-lasting, ensuring that the labels stay securely in place once applied.

However, if you are still concerned, you may opt to purchase an extra backup adhesive label with your contact information at S$1 under add-ons.

Design and Customisation

Can I customise the tag with my dog’s name and our contact information?

Absolutely! Your dog’s name will be included on the front of the tag. Your contact information (optional) will also be printed on a clear adhesive label with a legible black font at the back.

The adhesive label gives you the flexibility of changing your contact details (e.g. when you change your phone number, or to switch to your pet sitter’s number when he/she is taking care of your pet while you’re overseas)anytime you want.

How many phone numbers can be added to the back of the dog tag?

You can add up to two phone numbers on the back of the dog tag, and each phone number will be placed on a separate line. This ensures that your contact information is clear and easily readable.

Can I include specific medical information or the microchip number on the dog tag?

Yes! Our customisation on the back of the dog tag allows for up to two lines of text or numbers, with a maximum of 15 characters per line. This means you can include essential details like the microchip number, blood type, or your contact information.

What types of fonts and lettering styles are available for customising the dog tags?

At the moment, we offer one handwriting font style for customising the front of the dog tags. However, we are actively sourcing and working on printing more fonts to provide you with a diverse range of options for personalising your doggo’s tag. Stay tuned for updates on our Instagram!

Care and Maintenance

What are the tips/care instructions for maintaining the dog tag?

3D Printed Tags
Pretty fuss free - just wash it under tap water with hand soap and dry it with a kitchen towel/microfibre towel!

Polymer Clay Tags
Over time, the metal bezel may develop a tarnish, which can occur more quickly in sea or treated water. For the longevity and appearance of the tags, it is advisable to remove them when your dog is at the beach or pool. 

While the tags are designed to be durable, it's essential to be cautious as they are not chew-proof or 100% scratchproof. Please take responsibility to ensure that your dog cannot access the tag for chewing. We will not be held responsible for any harm caused by the misuse or mishandling of the dog tags.

How do I clean the dog tag if it gets dirty?

You can wash the dog tags (front and back) with hand soap and room temperature/warm water using your hands or a soft toothbrush for gentle scrubbing. After washing, do wipe them dry with a paper towel or a soft dry towel.

Please avoid using wet wipes, alcohol, or acetone as they can damage the tag.

Ordering and Shipping

How long is the lead time/turnaround for dog tags?

Our handcrafting process requires 3-4 weeks to complete before we ship out your order. This ensures that each dog tag receives the utmost attention to detail, reworking if we have to, to give your doggo the best possible piece we can create.

What if I made a mistake in my order? Can I cancel or modify my order?

If you need to make any modifications to your order, please contact us via direct message on Instagram or email as soon as possible. We’ll do our best to assist you with any changes if production has not started. However, once the dog tag is in production, it may not be possible to make significant alterations. Additional charges may apply if we need to remake any parts of the dog tag.

Cancellations can be made within 24 hours as long as production has not started. However, it will incur a ~ 3% charge due to the online payment processing fee, depending on your payment method.

We encourage you to double-check your order details during the checkout process to ensure accuracy and satisfaction.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept VISA, Mastercard, AMEX, UnionPay, ShopPay, ApplePay, GooglePay, PayPal, and PayNow.

Among these options, PayNow is our preferred method of payment.

What are the shipping costs and estimated delivery times?

All shipping options will be tracked/registered to minimise the risks of missing parcels during delivery.

We offer the following option:

SingPost (Letter Box)
- S$2.50
- 2-3 working days

We also offer free shipping for orders above SGD$80.

We encourage you to review your shipping address carefully during the checkout process to avoid any potential issues with delivery.

Can I track the shipping progress of my order, and will I receive a tracking number?

Once your order has been shipped out, you will receive an email that includes the tracking number for the parcel.

Do you offer international shipping?

Yes - all international shipping will be delivered through registered parcel (tracking available).

What happens if I entered the wrong shipping address?

If you have entered the wrong shipping address, please notify us via direct message on Instagram or email. We will do our best to correct the address before the item is shipped out.

However, if the item has already been dispatched, it may not be possible to make changes and we would recommend contacting the shipping carrier to see if they can assist with redirecting the package. Unfortunately, the chances of this would be low.

We encourage you to review your shipping address carefully during the checkout process to avoid any potential issues with delivery.

I did not receive my item, what should I do?

We currently only offer tracked/registered shipping options to minimise the risks of missing parcels.

However, in the unfortunate event that you did not receive your item after the parcel has been marked as “delivered”, please reach out to us with your order number via direct message on Instagram or email.

We will then reach out to the post office/courier and will provide a replacement if the post office/courier has no proof of delivery and confirms it as lost.

Returns and Support

What if I received a defective item?

If you have received a defective item, please reach out to us via direct message on Instagram or email within 3 days of receipt, providing your order number, details and images of the defect.

Our defect limitations cover defects caused by the craftsmanship and exclude damages resulting from wear and tear (such as scratches, hardware tarnishing, chewing, misuse, etc.).

We will promptly assess on a case-by-case basis. Depending on the nature of the defect, we may offer a replacement, a refund, or another suitable solution.
